LIBE wasn't born from a perfect plan.
It was born from a pull that kept coming back. For years.
It was born from the urge to create technical apparel that doesn't force a choice between performance and style. Clothing made to move outdoors, to keep pace with every ride — long or short, the ones that go well and the ones that don't.
From wanting to wear gear that's technical, but has enough personality not to blend into the background. Gear you actually want to put on.
LIBE was born in Quebec City, in Lac-Beauport. A place made for mountain biking, trail and hiking. A place for people who want to feel free.
For a long time, the idea just stayed there, in the trails of Lac-Beauport. In the back of our minds. In the rides. In the realization that, in mountain biking, the gear out there was often limited, badly suited, or far from what we wanted to wear. Technical, but flat. Stylish, but not built to move.
So the idea grew. How great would it be to have a brand that blends trail, streetwear and the outdoors. A freer brand. More expressive. More human.
The project matured for six years. Then, paradoxically, it was during a career break forced by health issues that the brand really began to take shape.
At that point, something became clear: what mattered wasn't going faster, performing more, or having better stats. It was simply being able to get outside. To move, as much as possible. To laugh. And funny enough, it's when you lose those moments that you realize how precious they are.
That's where La Belle Vie took on its full meaning. Not a perfect life, but a free one — loved for everything it gives us.
The name LIBE comes from that same idea. From libertad. Freedom. From what you feel outside, on the trails, when there's no single right way to do it. Whether you're alone or with a crew, whether you go out once a week or ten times.
Whether you're the one who wows everyone on the descents, or the one who's been riding for five years and still isn't quite comfortable on the bike. To each their own trail, their own way of riding, their own fears and moments of doubt — and their own wins and pride.
Today, LIBE is taking shape around this vision: to create technical, durable and expressive apparel for those who live outdoors their own way.
Pieces designed in Quebec, made for the mud, the wind, the climbs, the detours and the after-ride. Technical enough for the trail.
Comfortable enough for the rest of the day. Bold enough to have character.
We don't just want to sell clothes. We want to build a brand that makes you want to get outside and play. To step out of the frame. To take up space. To live the outdoors with less pressure and more joy. And above all, to enjoy what truly matters... La Belle Vie.
